Terms of service
The deal, in plain language.

These terms govern your use of the Lisan platform and its products, and form an agreement between you (or the organization you act for) and LISAN AI - FZE. By creating an account or using the services you agree to them. Individual products may publish product-specific terms on their own sites; where those address a commercial point for that product, they control for that product. Enterprise and government deployments are additionally governed by their signed agreements, which prevail where they differ.
The service
Lisan provides productivity software: web applications, desktop applications, APIs, and AI features. Features are provided as they exist at the time; we improve them continuously and may change or retire parts of the products. For a material reduction to a paid service we will give notice where reasonably practical.
Your content is yours
You own the content you create on every plan. You can export it in open formats at any time, and there is no exit fee. We take only the limited licence needed to store, display, and process that content to run the services for you. We act as a processor of hosted data on your behalf, and we never train AI on your private content.
Accounts and acceptable use
Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account and API keys. Do not use Lisan to break the law, store or share content you have no right to, infringe others' rights, resell or bulk-extract the services themselves (exporting your own data is always allowed), or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the services or other customers' data. We may suspend accounts that put the services or other customers at risk, and will warn you first where practical.
Plans, fees, and payment
Some products offer free plans and some are paid. For paid plans, the price, currency, billing period, and what is included are those shown at checkout or in your order at the time you subscribe. Fees are stated in US dollars unless your order says otherwise, are charged in advance for each billing period, and are exclusive of taxes: where tax applies to your purchase it is added, and where you are required to withhold or self-account for tax you remain responsible for it. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers. We may change pricing for future billing periods with notice, and will not retroactively change a period you have already paid for.
Renewal, cancellation, and refunds
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for that plan, unless cancelled before the period ends. You may cancel at any time from the billing settings in your account, or by writing to support@lisan.com. Cancellation stops the next renewal and your paid features run to the end of the period you already paid for; we do not pro-rate part-used periods. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or where we agree otherwise in writing, for example a billing error on our side or a material failure of the service we cannot remedy. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend paid features until it succeeds. When a paid plan ends, your data is not deleted: your account reverts to the free plan for that product, and you keep read and export access to your content, though features and plan limits that require a paid plan stop applying.
Data protection
Our Privacy Policy describes what we process and why. Where we process personal data on your behalf as a processor, we do so on your instructions and under a data processing agreement; if you need one signed for a procurement or diligence process, write to support@lisan.com. Where you place personal data about other people into a workspace, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so and for the notices those people are owed.
AI output
AI features generate suggestions: transcripts, summaries, corrections, translations, and drafts that you review. They are strong drafts, not guaranteed facts; review anything that will carry formal or legal weight. Nothing produced by the products is legal, tax, accounting, financial, or professional advice.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the services at any time and may ask us to delete your account and its data. We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, a security risk, non-payment, or a legal requirement; where practical we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your data first.
Disclaimers & liability
The services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LISAN AI - FZE is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, or data. Our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the services is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to LISAN AI - FZE in its jurisdiction of registration, and disputes will be resolved in the competent courts or tribunals of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law gives you additional protections that apply regardless of this clause.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes are published here with a new effective date, and we record which version you accepted when you created your account. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
